Want to do what many other experts are doing? That’s slow trolling, or what some call spider rigging. This time of year the tactic lets a fisherman move slowly along working a ledge, drop or other feature. When cover is found or a fish is caught, the boat can be stopped to leave all baits in the spot. Popular equipment picks includes: Driftmaster rod holder system; 12- or 14-foot poles like BnM Pro Staff or BGJP; 8- or 10-pound test line; and double-hook minnow rig with a 3/8-ounce egg sinker. If you rig and fish like this, you’ll be following the trend, but in this case it’s a good trend to be following. -TH
