One thing I’ve noticed is some fishermen restrict their fishing by tying up to a tree. Sometimes that may work but to me it’s not the best way to fish. Tying up means you’re not moving. You might catch a few fish over time but if you keep moving you might find a tree 30 feet away with several crappie in it. More likely, fishing more trees means you find a fish or two at many more trees so by the end of the day you’ll catch more fish by moving quickly. This is especially true in August. There are a ton of fish out there to be caught.
