CrappieNOW/Simms Garner Outdoor Writing Awards
by CrappieNOW Staff
CrappieNOW Editor Richard Simms, and CrappieNOW Magazine, garnered an impressive array of awards in outdoor journalism competitions across the country recently.
In the 2024 Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) awards competition, the Sept. 2023 Issue of CrappieNOW Magazine – edited by Simms and designed by Creative Director Matt Mullikin – was awarded 3rd Place in the Publishing Category. AGLOW includes more than 400 members of the best outdoor writers and publications from across the country.
CrappieNOW Publisher Dan Dannemueller said, “I am honored to be receiving this award from one of the finest outdoor writer associations in the country. Founded 14 years ago, CrappieNOW was one of the first digital outdoor publications. Along with co-founders Tim Huffman and T.J. Stallings, the goal was to provide the best crappie fishing knowledge available, and it is still the same today. I am blessed to have one of the best editors, Richard Simms, digital creator, Matt Mullikin, senior writer, Tim Huffman and an outstanding team that make this publication a winner.”
Currently the CrappieNOW channels and online magazine have more than 60,000 social media followers with more than a million engagements and magazine web page views.
