Product Buzz, by Scott Mackenthun

Action Glow Cups

Action Glow Cups were created by a Utah angler with a mind for figuratively building a better mouse trap. Anyone who fishes after dark or in low light conditions with glowing jigs knows how important it is to have a jig charger. Most chargers require you to turn them on, or drop them in a case or aren’t bright enough. Action Glow Cups can be USB or 12-volt powered and are motion activated and hands free. With multiple sizing options, you can find something for crappie jigs or larger offerings. Mount one in your boat, fish house or on your flashers or shuttles. Order on Etsy, through the Facebook profile or by emailing
actionglowcups@gmail.com. MSRP: $30 for the smallest Action Glow Cup.

Bajio Sunglasses Palehorse

After their Greenland line of sunglasses earned the ICAST award for Best in Show eyewear in 2025, Bajio is back in 2026 with Palehorse, a pair of sunglasses that you can wear all day in comfort in all sorts of elements, especially on those days that you probably should have stayed home. Palehorse has removeable side shields that keep glare and differing light angles from affecting your vision. The vented rubber finish prevents fogging, and the hinges are flexible. The frames are large to maximize coverage and are made to block out blue light. These fishing sunglasses may become your daily-use staple. MSRP: $219 for polycarbonate, $269 for glass lenses.

B’n’M Poles Sam Heaton’s Super Sensitive Rod

Built by crappie anglers for crappie anglers, B’n’M sports a wide variety of crappie rods that are technique specific and don’t break the bank. The Sam Heaton’s 7-foot Super Sensitive Rod is a perfect spinning rod for casting or jigging. You’ll feel the lightest of bites but have the power to land an accidental bass. Dyno-Flow Guides and a cork knob handle help it cast easily and lie comfortably in your hand. Trust the folks at B’n’M to create quality fishing rods that catch crappies. MSRP: $60.

Fish Armor Pro Pole, Shuttles and Boat Mount System

As live-imaging sonar popularity grows, the need for a portable and protective means to transport your unit and transducer has become obvious. Enter Fish Armor. Working with a commercial marine supplier, Fish Armor makes roto-molded equipment that helps you easily transport and use your live-imaging sonar in open water and ice fishing applications, easily going between different setups. Roto-molding is the toughest protection for your valuable and expensive live-imaging electronics and features shuttles with flush-mounted screens and poles where your cord goes inside the pole. Easy to switch over collars from hardwater to open water, and easy to move between boats, Fish Armor has custom built solutions that allow you to use your marine electronics to the best of their abilities at all times. Add a boat-mount system and you can easily go from your own boat to a friend’s and back again. If you keep a boat at home and another at a vacation property, you can transport between each without having to spend thousands on rerigging everything. In contemporary times, when portability and protection are of prime importance, and when live-imaging sonar is a critical element of locating and catching fish, don’t leave your electronics at home. Bring them with you on your boat, in your fish house or even on your buddy’s boat. This is a system meant for year-round use. MSRP: $300 for Boat Pole Mount; $200 for Pro Pole; $210 for Pro Lite Shuttle.
