“My tip would be not to go in too shallow too quickly. The crappie will be mainly in pre-spawn with a few going in shallow. I’ll see fishermen going in to really shallow stakebeds for example but it’s too early. We’ll stay out in a little deeper water where the fish are holding waiting to go in. It’s a good place to catch the big females.
