Crappie Basics: Northland Introduces Tungsten Crappie King Fly

Northland Fishing Tackle is a well-known name in providing great products for panfish anglers. The company says its new Tungsten Crappie King Fly is destined to even succeed their historic fish-catching capabilities.
They believe hair-jigs deliver a natural, flowing action that entices fish without live bait additives. They say the Tungsten Crappie King Fly gives anglers a new alternative that casts farther and drops faster.
Tungsten is 30 percent denser than lead, getting down quickly and casting exceptional distances. And they say that once in the strike zone, anglers will feel more bites because of the hardness of the material, which telegraphs more sensitivity up the line, through the rod, and into the anglers’ hands. The eco-friendly material is also better for the environment.
The Crappie King Fly features a hand-tied feather/tinsel tail in a menagerie of colors.
As bass anglers, who have used tungsten weight for years already know, tungsten doesn’t come cheap. The MSRP of the Crappie King Fly will be $7.99 for a two-jig card. It will be available in the Spring of 2024.
