Dickey Porter is an avid crappie fisherman on the Tennessee River. In his decades chasing crappie, Porter has fileted thousands – maybe tens of thousands of crappie.
There are plenty of different ways to prepare your crappie catch for the table. But Porter’s friend and regular fishing partner, Dr. Phil Gawthrop, decided to shoot a video of Porter and his fileting skills. With a little practice Porter says anyone can have crappie filets ready to toss in the frying pan in one minute or less.
