Mr. Crappie Pliers & Scissor Combo by Smith Products
Plier and scissors are a necessity when fishing from the boat or bank. They are good around any tool bench, too. Smith’s combo comes in a hard case that allows tools to dry after each use. A belt clip keeps them right on your side so they’ll be there when you need them most. The fishing pliers are 6.5’ and have side cutters, lure tuning and split-shot crimps. The stainless-steel scissors are 3” and cut braid or poly lines. MSRP is $28.99
Crappie X-Tractor by TTI-Blakemore
A cool bait with a cool name, TTI-Blakemore Road Runner Crappie X-Tractor is built for quality and action. The Road Runner comes with an ultra-sharp, strong sickle hook designed to keep a fish on. The jig heads have inset, double eyes, a scaled finish, a 1/0 hook on the 1/16-ounce, and a 2/0 on the 1/8. Heads can be bought in packs, but a deadly combination is the pre-rigged jig that comes with a Bobby Garland Slab Hunt’R with a twin button tail and ribbed under belly. The combination creates more sound, flash and vibration that fish love. MSRP $3.28 rigged.
Hurricane Howard Pulling Rods by HH Rods and Reels
Hurricane Howard Pulling Rods are designed to pull jigs and crankbaits. They’re IM-6 with a medium whip action for casting a jig or crankbait a further distance, a big advantage when pulling. Owner Eric Howard says a stiff rod can cause a fish to spit the jig out, or if it gets hooked, cause the jig to pull out of its mouth. However, rods have enough strength to handle and control a fish. The rods have EVA foam handles and a high-vis fluorescent tip section. Lengths include 8, 9, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 feet. MSRP $59 to $95.
