New CrappieNOW contributor Madalyn Roberts captured this idyllic scene on Ashes Creek, one of the popular spots for crappie fishermen on Taylorsville Lake near Louisville, Kentucky. The morning she made her first trip to Ashes Creek from Taylorsville Lake Marina, the fog was extremely thick, greatly limiting her visibility. But as the fog lifted, it unveiled an incredible view of stumps and stick ups for days, making for endless opportunities for vertical jigging.
Recently, I had a brush of life or death while fishing. For the first time in 50 years of fishing in a boat, I fell overboard. It compelled me to share this experience with you and recommend the wearing of life jackets and safety gear.
God bless
