This song keeps coming to mind during these hot days of summer – “Hot, hot baby.”

Wow, is it ever hot here in the South and everywhere, I guess. Not only are the temperatures hot but so are the new products for 2023-2024.

I just attended the ICAST 2023 show in Orlando, Florida. This show is where manufacturers, retailers, dealers and media all come together annually to debut their new products. It is an international event with attendees from across the globe.  And finally, we got to see many folks return as COVID tails off into the sunset. The show did not disappoint any of us.

New products for all species were on display. Many companies entered their new products into the showcase to compete for coveted category awards and even best in show. Our editor, Richard Simms, has included the winners in this edition (ICAST BEST IN SHOW).

Of course, there were many more new and innovative products in the main show as well. I tried to visit as many of the crappie vendors and manufactures as I could. Pictures and videos are being edited, scheduled and posted to our CrappieNOW social media channels starting last week.  Be sure to check them out.

You might ask which ones did you really like Dan, right?  Well, here are just a few:

Last, but certainly not least, the show is like a reunion for many of us. Everyone is so busy during the year that this opportunity only comes once a year. The fishing world is mostly a family. Many of us more senior members miss those who have left us and cherish those who have not.

Enjoy our current summer ezine and social media how-to’s to help you to be more successful on the water.

God bless and enjoy the beautiful outdoors!
