Opening Cast

Opening Cast Nov 2021

If you Google the phrase “crappie trail” you will find what seems like a never-ending list of websites and events. Virtually all of them, however, will point you toward some form competitive crappie tournament.

That is great, IF you are interested in competitive crappie fishing. But if you are just a regular guy, or girl, who wants to crappie fish for fun, you won’t find much to help you out.

Do the same search for “golf trail,” however, and you will find great information for the everyday golfer, directing you to the best golf courses in a wide variety of states.

All that has changed in Mississippi. CrappieNOW Publisher Dan Dannemueller joined forces with the folks at Visit Mississippi, the Magnolia State’s tourism organization, to create the “Mississippi Crappie Trail.” (MSCT)

Serious crappie anglers across the country already know of the incredible angling options there. But until now, there has never been a single source of information to learn about all the great opportunities in one fell swoop.

Now the MSCT has combined everything you need to know about the state’s six top crappie fishing destinations – Arkabutla, Barnett, Enid, Grenada, Sardis and Lake Washington. And you can explore them all with a single click of the mouse.

The most successful fishing trips begin with planning. You can plan your angling adventure in Mississippi easily before you every step out your front door.

Fishing guides, boat ramps, bait & tackle, places to stay, places to eat, things to do (besides fish) – it’s all combined on one easy-to-navigate web page. You can even download it as an App on your smartphone.

If you’ve been threatening to visit the home of the biggest crappie in the country, but just haven’t been able to get organized to “pull the trigger,” you’ve got no more excuses.

Pull your trigger by visiting the Mississippi Crappie Trail. You can also visit them on Facebook.
