by Richard Simms, CrappieNOW Editor
The International Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame is inducting six new “Legends” into its Hall of Fame in 2024, including CrappieNOW co-founder and Senior Writer, Tim Huffman.
This will actually be the second “Legend” award for Huffman after he was inducted into the prestigious “Legends of the Outdoors” Hall of Fame in August.
“Good things have been coming my way this year,” said Huffman. “I’m thankful and honored that in 2024 I’ll be receiving a second hall of fame induction. It’s overwhelming to be joining a group that includes Curt Goudy, Uncle Homer Circle, Bill Dance and Al Linder. These and other greats in the fishing industry are on another level, but it’s an awesome honor to be included and recognized for my work in outdoor media.”
Huffman’s career credits include:
- Writing crappie articles for magazines for 33 years, with credits in numerous regional and national magazines
- Columnist and feature writer for Crappie World Magazine for 12 years
- Editor of Cabela’s Crappie USA Crappie Journal
- Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters Tournament Trail Magazine, serving as Editor 15 years
- Several thousand photo credits including more than 130 cover photos
- Author of nine books, the latest published 2022.
“My niche has always been crappie fishing,” added Huffman. “That’s who I am, and crappie fishermen are my people. I’ve enjoyed working decades with and for them. I hope they feel they are a part of my induction next year.”
