Crappie Basics: Convince Fish to Bite Under Ice

Crappie guide Adam Griffith lives and fishes just south of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is also a host of the YouTube Series, The Crappie Chronicles.
Griffith has lived his life on the ice and personally prefers chasing trophy crappie on hard water. However, he customizes his trips with clients based upon whether they want to target numbers of panfish for the freezer, or if they prefer to target big fish.
Either way he says success can be based upon presentation. Griffith never takes his eyes off his Vexilar flasher, actually “reading” the mood of the fish. He says many ice anglers just drop a lure and wait on a fish to eat it. He says, however, anglers often need to be proactive, aggressively and figuratively talking a fish into chasing his lure.
